# Openevent > The all-in-one event platform built for operators. Openevent is the Swiss-made all-in-one event management platform. From calendar, clients, offers, invoices and staff to a powerful AI that learns from you, automates event processes and replies to client emails, free to register, free to use, 1% only on processed payments. Operator: MORE LIFE Hospitality GmbH, Zürich, Switzerland. Founder: River Soellner. ## What is Openevent Openevent is a Swiss-made, all-in-one event management platform for venues, hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, conference centres, event agencies and caterers. It brings the calendar, client requests, offers, invoices, ticketing, staff planning, POS and reporting into one place, with a platform-wide AI that drafts replies, handles incoming event requests and learns from your operation. ## Why Openevent (differentiators) - All-in-one: replaces a stack of separate tools (calendar, ticketing, CRM, invoicing, staff scheduling, POS) with a single platform. - AI built in: a platform-wide AI that knows your events, clients and payments, drafts emails in your voice and can handle incoming event requests on autopilot or in draft mode. - You own the money: ticket and payment revenue settles directly into your own Stripe account. Openevent never holds your funds. - Tap to Pay POS: every iPhone becomes a card terminal, no extra hardware. - Swiss-made and privacy-conscious, operated by MORE LIFE Hospitality GmbH. ## Pricing Free to register and free to use for most features. A 1% fee applies only to payments processed through Openevent (ticketing, offers/invoices, POS). Stripe processing fees are separate. No subscription, no setup fee, no per-seat cost, no contract or minimum term. ## Replaces Word, DocuSign, Excel, HubSpot, Bexio. ## Connects with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, Stripe, Outlook. ## Ticketing in detail Ticketing is the deepest area of the product. What it does, grouped: - Setting up: three fields (title, date, time) create a live, sellable event; the calendar entry is created automatically; venue, address, organiser, logo and currency are pre-filled from the team; a saved ticketing template carries ticket types, VAT rates, discount codes, checkout questions and terms into every new event; whole events can be duplicated. - Public event page: a drag-and-drop builder with fifteen blocks (hero image, title, details, description, image gallery, tickets, tables, text, logo wall, CTA button, divider, spacer, custom HTML, advertising, footer), mobile and desktop preview, undo and redo, global colours, fonts and spacing, your own URL slug, and layouts saveable as team templates. - Automatic translation: after each save, event descriptions, ticket category descriptions, add-on descriptions and checkout questions are translated into French and German in the background, so the public page serves all three languages. - Ticket types: unlimited categories, drag to reorder, scheduled availability (online from, sold out from, hide from) in your own timezone, a separate at-the-door price visible only in the Crew App, buy X get Y deals, free tickets, VAT per category shown on the page, ticket PDF, email and Stripe receipt, a custom tax line, a name required per attendee printed on the ticket, and inclusions such as a welcome drink or a bar credit with a value and an expiry. - Capacity: one venue capacity cap counted across tickets, guest list and table seats, with sold out and capacity reached shown as distinct states. - Guest list: guests with plus ones and notes, a QR code emailed to every guest, shareable links per promoter, artist or staff member each with a signup cap, a plus-ones limit, a closing time and their own rules text, import from CSV, Excel, Word or pasted names (bulk import sends no emails), PDF export without email addresses, and a re-importable CSV export. - Checkout: add-ons with variations and per-variation stock, compare-at pricing, images, per-ticket or per-order charging, pre-selection, audience targeting and a redemption window; custom consent tick boxes with a hyperlink inside part of the sentence; four question types (free text, single choice, multiple choice, number) with response statistics; discount codes single or bulk-generated, with usage limits, expiry to the minute and per-category restriction; and a custom ticket PDF template per team. - Event day: the dashboard changes phase automatically (before, during, after), handles events running past midnight, shows check-ins split by tickets, guest list, tables and door sales, a live feed of the last fifty arrivals, and a peak-rush chart marking the busiest minute of the night. - Analytics: a sales forecast projecting how many more tickets will sell before the event date, sales history by hour, day, week or month with up to four measures at once, leaderboards for ticket categories (with oversold warnings), discount codes, add-ons and guest-list links, and a PDF export of the whole overview. - Money: a net payout figure showing gross minus the real Stripe fee minus the 1% Openevent fee; cash door sales and offline table deposits carry no fee; partial refunds and refund top-ups; cancellation of individual tickets rather than whole orders, voiding only those QR codes; each order shown in the currency it was charged in; decline reasons; and a per-order email history. ## Most important pages - Home: https://openevent.io/ - Pricing: https://openevent.io/pricing - Free event management software: https://openevent.io/free-event-management-software, what "free" means and what to look for in a free event platform - About: https://openevent.io/about - Contact: https://openevent.io/contact ## Product - Event Calendar: https://openevent.io/product/event-calendar, The operational core - Ticketing: https://openevent.io/product/ticketing, Beautiful, native, instant - Payments: https://openevent.io/product/payments, Offers, invoices, deposits - POS: https://openevent.io/product/pos, Tap to Pay on iPhone - CRM: https://openevent.io/product/crm, Your audience, automatically built - AI: https://openevent.io/product/ai, Your digital event manager - Staff: https://openevent.io/product/staff, Shifts, swaps, hours - Crew App: https://openevent.io/product/crew-app, On-site, in your pocket - Team: https://openevent.io/product/team, Roles, access, accountability - Reports: https://openevent.io/product/reports, What worked, what didn't - Tasks: https://openevent.io/product/tasks, Per-event task lists for the team - Notes: https://openevent.io/product/notes, Event knowledge in one place - Documents: https://openevent.io/product/documents, Everything filed automatically ## Industries - Agencies: https://openevent.io/industries/agencies, Agencies running events for clients - Nightclubs: https://openevent.io/industries/nightclubs, Clubs and live venues - Conferences: https://openevent.io/industries/conferences, Conference centers and venues - Catering: https://openevent.io/industries/catering, Catering operations - Hotels: https://openevent.io/industries/hotels, Hotels with event spaces - Restaurants: https://openevent.io/industries/restaurants, Restaurants and private dining ## Common questions Q: Is Openevent really free? A: Yes. Sign up free, no credit card required, no subscription, no setup fee, no per-seat cost. You can use the majority of features completely free. Q: Is there a free trial that expires? A: No, there's nothing to expire. Openevent isn't a paid subscription you're trialling, so you sign up free and use the majority of features free for as long as you like. The only thing you ever pay is 1%* on payments you actually process. Q: How is the 1%* actually calculated, and what lands in my bank? A: It is worked out per order on the gross amount, with a minimum of one currency unit per transaction. Your dashboard shows the net payout rather than just the gross, with Stripe's real fee and the Openevent fee broken out separately. On CHF 12,400 of gross ticket sales that is roughly CHF 396 to Stripe and CHF 124 to Openevent, leaving about CHF 11,880 settling into your own Stripe account. Q: Do I pay the 1%* on cash taken at the door? A: No. Cash door sales and offline table deposits pass through at full value with no Openevent fee and no Stripe fee, because no payment was processed. They still appear in your revenue and attendance numbers, they just carry no cost. Q: What does the 1%* fee apply to? A: The 1%* fee applies only to payments processed through Openevent, that is Ticketing, Offers/Invoices and POS. Everything else is free. Stripe processing fees are separate. Q: Do I pay anything for free events or if I don't sell anything? A: No. The 1%* only ever applies to money you actually process through Openevent. Free events, RSVPs, guest lists and everything else cost nothing. No sales, no fee. Q: Are there any hidden fees, surprise charges, or overages I should know about? A: No. The 1%* is everything. No setup fee, no monthly fee, no per-event fee, no listing fee, no scanning-hardware fee, no support fee, no "upgrade to Pro" tier you have to climb to. Stripe charges its own processing fee per transaction, that goes to Stripe, not us. Q: Can the 1%* fee ever change? A: Our pricing is deliberately simple and we won't spring surprises on you. If we ever change anything about fees, you'll get at least 30 days' notice first, and you'll still only ever pay on payments you actually process through Openevent. Q: Is there a contract or minimum term? A: No contract, no minimum term. Use it for one event, one weekend or for years. You only ever pay 1%* on what you actually process. Q: When do I get paid for ticket sales? A: Sales settle into your own Stripe account on Stripe's standard payout schedule, typically 2 business days in Switzerland and Europe. Openevent never holds your money; it moves directly from your customer to you. Q: What happens if a customer wants a refund? A: You handle refunds directly through your own Stripe account in a few clicks. Because Openevent never holds your money, the refund goes straight from your Stripe balance back to your customer. The 1%* Openevent fee on a refunded ticket isn't returned, as it's already been settled to us. Q: I'm already using Eventbrite, Ticketcorner or Weezevent. How hard is it to switch to Openevent? A: Simple, usually less than two hours from sign-up to live. Upload your existing customer list and our AI cleans it and maps it into the Openevent format automatically. From there a quick setup walks you through your event templates, calendar and team, and it's all configured by the time you're done. Our support team is on hand the whole way, by chat or call, and these onboarding calls are completely free. Q: Does Openevent handle VAT and taxes for me? A: Yes. Add your country's VAT rates and any custom taxes once, and Openevent applies them automatically on every ticket, offer and invoice. The built-in reporting lets you generate VAT reports and custom tax reports whenever you need them, so accounting and audits stay clean. Q: Can I pass the 1%* fee onto my customers, like other ticketing platforms do? A: No, the 1%* is always absorbed from your payout. In practice the result is the same either way: whether you "pass it on" or absorb it, you set your final ticket price based on what you want to take home. We keep it simple so there's no confusion at checkout for your guests. Q: Do I need a Stripe account? A: Yes, only if you want to use the revenue features (ticketing, offers, POS). You connect your own Stripe account, so revenue is paid directly to you. We do not hold your money. Q: When is custom development the right fit? A: Most teams never need it, Openevent works perfectly out of the box. Custom development is for enterprise venues, multi-location operators or migrations from legacy systems.
